E-Bike Grant Program

Providing Sustainable Transportation

San Antonio’s e-bike program is helping make clean, affordable transportation more accessible. Through the City’s pilot program, 244 low-income residents received e-bike rebates, supporting a broader effort to reduce emissions, improve air quality, and expand mobility options.

An early study out of UTSA suggests the program is making a real impact. After launch, average daily bicycling trips among participants more than doubled, showing that e-bikes can help people get around more often while supporting a healthier, more sustainable city.

This page will be updated if new e-bike vouchers become available.

Program participant Yvonne Martinez shared with DRS how the e-bike program positively impacted her life:

"I felt very lucky, I felt very blessed. I was without transportation and (the e-bike) is definitely an improvement from walking everywhere - especially with a bad knee."

When asked about how the bike improved her access to common needs like work, school, and groceries, Yvonne said:

"It opens doors... I had no access to things that I do now. It's really rewarding and beneficial. (the e-bike) helped me out tremendously."
