Grantee Spotlight: Gardopia Gardens
Building Everyday Community Resilience
Communities often need more accessible resources that support both everyday sustainability and long-term resilience. Gardopia Gardens, a community nonprofit focused on garden-based learning, pursued a project to help meet that need. The project installed solar energy infrastructure to reduce GHG emissions and offset electricity costs. It also expanded the organization’s tool library so more residents can access equipment, learn sustainable gardening practices, and build practical skills through hands-on community programs.

Solar Power and Shared Resources
Gardopia Gardens is using SA Climate Ready Community Incentives funding to support construction of its Community Resilience Hub through two key additions: a solar energy system and an expanded Community Tool Resilience Library. Together, these investments help Gardopia offer no-cost energy support, expand shared resources, and strengthen its education and outreach around gardening, sustainability, and healthy communities.
